State of Fashion Biennale 2026: Available to Promise — Hidden Systems, Shared Futures

Arnhem, The Netherlands, 2025-2026

Available to Promise explores the hidden systems that shape fashion today - from supply chains and labour networks to logistics, platforms, ecological resources, and digital cultures. Borrowing its title from a logistics industry term used to calculate what can be delivered, when, and to whom, the biennale asks what kinds of futures, relationships, and responsibilities remain “available to promise” under systems increasingly driven by prediction and efficiency.

Bringing together 26 international projects across installation, moving image, garments, research, and material experiments, the exhibition unfolds through five interconnected pillars: Develop, Distribute, Hype, Experience, and Transform. Conceived as both exhibition and research platform, the biennale invites audiences to move between spectacle and infrastructure, front and back-of-house - tracing the hidden systems that make fashion visible.
